Hi, I'm Jason. I run Vesperion Gate, the small software company that makes Thicket. This page could be the usual about-page boilerplate, but I'd rather just tell you what this is and why we make it.

Thicket exists because of two frustrations with the project management tools we tried while running our own work. The first was pricing: everything charged per person, so every contractor, intern, or client who needed visibility was another line on the bill, and the quiet result was that teams left people out of the tool to save money. The second was complexity: the tools kept growing dashboards, automations, and settings screens that had to be managed, until the tool itself became a project.

So in 2025 we built the tool we wanted. It does the six things every project actually needs: a message board, to-dos, docs & files, a schedule, kanban-style Boards, and group chat, all in one place at one flat price. $49 a month, whether you're five people or fifty. Add the contractor. Add the client. The bill doesn't move. Basecamp proved this kind of calm, simple project management as a business decades ago; we follow that philosophy at a price built for smaller teams.

Here's the claim I can make that most software pages can't: we run our entire company on Thicket. Every feature we plan, every bug we track, every document we write, our schedules, and the day-to-day chat. All of it lives in the same product you'd be using. When something is slow or confusing, it slows and confuses us first, and it gets fixed because we can't stand it either. We don't have a wall of customer logos to show you yet, and we won't invent one. What we have is a tool we trust our own business to, every working day.

I'll also tell you what Thicket isn't. There are no Gantt charts, no workflow automations, no custom fields, no data importer. Switching means rebuilding your projects by hand, which is faster than it sounds but is still honest work. If your team runs on those features, a bigger tool will serve you better, and I'd genuinely rather you pick it than be disappointed here. Thicket is for small teams that want clarity and calm more than configuration.
