What is Thicket?
Thicket is project management software for teams that want one tool for tasks, documents, schedules, group chat, and client collaboration. It costs $49/mo flat with unlimited users. No per-seat fees.
Who is Thicket built for?
Small and mid-size teams that are tired of paying per user or juggling multiple tools. Restaurants, construction companies, agencies, startups, and any team that needs project management and team communication in one place.
How is Thicket different from Asana, Monday.com, or ClickUp?
Pricing and scope. Asana, Monday.com, and ClickUp all charge per user, which gets expensive as your team grows. A 25-person team on Asana Business costs $275/mo. On Thicket, it costs $49/mo. Thicket also includes built-in group chat, automatic check-ins, and client access with approvals, with no add-ons or extra tiers.
Pricing
Do project management tools charge per user or flat rate?
Most charge per user. Monday.com, Asana, ClickUp, and Notion all bill $10–15 per user per month, so the cost rises with every person you add. Only a few tools are flat-rate: Basecamp moved its whole lineup to flat project-tiered plans in mid-2026 ($25 to $299 per month by active-project count), and Thicket is $49/month flat for unlimited users and unlimited projects, with no per-seat fees. Past about 4–5 people, flat-rate usually costs less.
How much does Thicket cost?
Thicket has three plans, all flat-priced per organization. The Free plan includes 1 project, 20 people (clients included), and 1GB storage. Starter is $25/month, or $20/month billed annually ($240/year), with up to 3 active projects, 20 people, and 10GB storage. Pro is $49/month, or $39/month billed annually ($468/year), with unlimited projects, unlimited team members, and 50GB storage. No per-user fees on any plan.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan gives you 1 project, 20 people (clients included), and 1GB of storage. No credit card required to sign up. You can upgrade to Pro whenever you need more.
Is there a free trial of the Pro plan?
Yes. Every new organization created on thickethq.com starts with a 30-day free trial of Pro. No credit card required. At the end of the trial, you can subscribe or drop to the Free plan without losing your data.
Do you offer annual billing?
Yes. Annual billing is $39/month, billed as $468/year. That's $120 less than paying monthly. You can choose monthly or annual at checkout and switch later from the billing portal.
Do you charge per user?
No. Both plans have a fixed number of seats or unlimited seats. The Pro plan is $49/mo no matter how many people you add. A team of 5 and a team of 500 pay the same price.
Do you have discounts for education or nonprofits?
Yes. Thicket is free for teachers and students using it for classroom work, and registered 501(c)(3) and CRA charities get 10% off any plan, forever. Apply at thickethq.com/discounts; a person verifies every application.
Features
Does Thicket have a kanban board?
Yes. Every project can turn on Boards, a kanban-style tool where cards move through columns. Cards carry assignees, due dates, steps, and comments, and you can put a card on hold without losing its place.
Does Thicket have automatic check-ins?
Yes. Set up recurring questions such as "What did you work on today?" on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule. Thicket asks the people you choose and collects everyone's answers in one place.
Does Thicket have Gantt charts or timelines?
Thicket includes shared schedules, due dates, and project calendars, but it does not currently ship a Gantt-style timeline with dependency management.
Can I invite clients or external collaborators?
Yes. You can invite clients with limited permissions. They see only the projects you add them to, and within those projects only the items you explicitly share, never your internal work. Clients can also approve work and exchange correspondence right in the project.
Mobile and Access
Is Thicket mobile-friendly?
Yes. Thicket works in any mobile browser. Your team can manage tasks, post updates, check the schedule, and chat from their phone.
Can I invite my whole team?
Yes. On the Pro plan, you can add unlimited team members. Invite them by email and they can start using Thicket immediately. No setup fees, no per-seat costs.
Security and Data
Is my data secure?
Yes. All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS), and uploaded files are encrypted at rest. Your data is stored in secure data centers in the United States, with daily backups kept with a separate provider in a separate region. We use row-level security in our database so each organization's data is fully isolated. Even in the event of an application vulnerability, one organization cannot access another's data. Two-factor authentication is available for every account, and organizations can require it for all members.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Account owners can download organization and project data as JSON from Admin. The download includes file metadata, not uploaded file binaries.
What integrations does Thicket support?
Thicket integrates with Google for single sign-on and Stripe for billing, and your schedules can feed into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or any other app via iCal. For AI apps and developers there is a full REST API, an official CLI, and a remote MCP connector verified with ChatGPT and Claude Code. Add the connector URL and approve read-only or read-and-write access in your browser. If there is a specific integration you need, reach out to our support team.
