Building and renovation

Repairing a bridge and reopening the crossing

A bridge repair closes a crossing that people use every day, and the work waits on stone deliveries, inspections and the weather. Here the repair is one project: bridge and stone yard photos, a board for every new stone, the inspection dates and the masons' daily crack readings.

The Mill Brook Bridge Repair project in Thicket over a photograph of a wooded brook in a city park at dawn: the health flag reading At risk, the repair's dates and six people, then eight cards: the Message Board with the late arch stones on top, To-dos with four lists, three of them on the progress chart, On the bridge as nine photographs of the sandstone arch under repair, Deliveries and inspections with the membrane delivery and the engineer's visit, the Stone schedule board with cards in To template, At the quarry and Dressing in the yard, Stone yard as nine photographs of masons dressing sandstone, the Crack gauges check-in with the daily readings, and Permits and letters with the quarry's letter, the answers for park users and the site walk invitation, with three external links below.

Larkin Stoneworks posts each find and decision on the Message Board and splits the repair into four lists in To-dos, three of them on the progress chart. Photos from the bridge and the stone yard sit in two Docs & Files grids beside the permits and letters, every new stone moves from template to set on Boards, and the Calendar holds the deliveries and inspections. Each afternoon a mason answers one question in Check-ins: what the three crack gauges on the arch read.
