Building and renovation

Taking a kitchen from demolition to handover

A kitchen renovation runs on dozens of choices, deliveries and inspections, often while a family still lives in the house. Here the job is one project: site photos, finish samples, materials on order, plans and permits, the site schedule and the crew's end-of-day notes.

The Abelson Farmhouse Kitchen project in Thicket over a photograph of a hay meadow and old sugar maples: the health flag reading On track, the job's dates and five people, then nine cards: the Message Board with the first terracotta floor tiles on top, To-dos with four lists on the progress chart, Site photos as nine pictures of the kitchen during the work, Finish samples as nine pictures of terracotta, soapstone, brass and green paint, the Materials board with cards in To price, Client to choose and Ordered, Chat between the crew and the homeowner, Plans and permits with the supplier lead times and the engineer's letter, the Site schedule with the inspections and the range delivery, and the End of day check-in, with three external links below.

Tamarack Design Build posts each surprise and decision on the Message Board and splits the job into four lists in To-dos, each a dot on the progress chart. Site photos and finish samples sit in two Docs & Files grids beside the plans and permits, each material moves from priced to ordered to on site on Boards, and the Calendar holds the inspections and deliveries. The crew and the homeowner talk in Chat, and the crew answers one question in Check-ins at the end of each day.
