Filming and editing a feature documentary

A documentary is often edited while it is still being filmed, and its archive footage and music must be cleared before it screens. Here the film is one project: location and shoot photos, every scene on a board, the music and archive lists, and the crew's chat.

The All Skate project in Thicket over a photograph of an empty roller rink under pink and teal light: the health flag reading At risk, the production dates and four people, then six cards: the Message Board with the closing night plan on top, The rink as nine photographs of the roller rink, the Scenes board with cards in Logging, Selects, In the cut and Notes, To-dos with three lists on the progress chart, On the floor as nine photographs of the crew filming, and Chat about the closing night shoot.

Back Cove Films posts screening notes and the closing night plan on the Message Board and moves every scene of the film through logging, selects and the cut on Boards. Photos of the rink and of the crew at work sit in two Docs & Files grids, the closing night, music, archive and finishing work are four lists in To-dos, and the crew plans each shoot day in Chat.
