Thicket for iPhone and iPad

Install Thicket on your iPhone or iPad, sign in, find your way around its four tabs, and turn on push notifications.

Thicket for iPhone and iPad keeps your projects, conversations, and assignments with you when you're away from your desk. It uses the same account as the web app, so everything you already have is there as soon as you sign in. The app is free to download.

Install the app

You need an iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store and search for Thicket: Project Management. You can also open thickethq.com/apps on the device and tap the App Store button.
  2. Tap Get

Open the app and sign in the same way you do on the web:

  • Enter your Email and Password, and tap Sign in
  • Or tap Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google

If your account uses two-factor authentication, the app asks for your code next. If you've forgotten your password, tap Forgot password?. When you belong to more than one organization, the app lists them so you can pick one.

New to Thicket? Tap Set up your organization at the bottom of the sign-in screen to create an account and an organization from the app. An organization created in the app starts on the Free plan. The app has no billing: an account owner changes plans on the web, in Admin > Billing. See Billing and Plans.

Getting around

The app has four tabs along the bottom:

  • Home lists your organization's projects, starred projects first, then folders and the rest. Shortcuts at the top open Calendar, My assignments, and Do today. The buttons at the top right start a new project (everyone except clients), open Search, and switch organization when you belong to more than one.
  • Inbox holds what needs you. New for you has your mentions, assignments, and replies. Back for you has items you asked Thicket to remind you about, and Bookmarks and Drafts hold what you've saved. The buttons at the top open your Chats and silence notifications for a while (Shhh…). The tab shows a badge with your unread count.
  • Activity shows what's been happening across your projects.
  • Me gathers your own work (Do today, My assignments, Calendar, My Notes, and My cheers), the organization's settings you're allowed to change, and My settings. Sign out and Delete my account are at the bottom.

Tap a project on Home to open it. Its tools work as they do on the web: read and post messages, check off to-dos, move cards, add events, chat, and comment. Pull down on a list to refresh it.

Turn on push notifications

After you sign in, the app offers to send you notifications, under the heading "Know when work needs you." Tap Turn on notifications, then allow them when iOS asks. Tap Not now to decide later.

To turn them on later, or to check them:

  1. Tap Me, then My settings
  2. Find Push notifications on this phone
  3. Tap Turn on notifications. If iOS has notifications turned off for Thicket, tap Open Settings instead and allow them there

Once they're on, the same section has Send a test notification, which sends one push to every device where you've turned notifications on. Pushes follow the notification choices in My settings, and Shhh… and quiet hours apply on your phone too. See Notification Settings.

What stays on the web

A few things are only in the web app at thickethq.com: changing your password and two-factor settings, uploading a profile photo, billing, and API tokens. Sign in on a computer for those.

On an Android phone, use Thicket in your phone's web browser.

If something isn't working

  • No notifications arriving? Check Push notifications on this phone in My settings, and make sure Shhh… isn't on in the Inbox. Then send yourself a test notification.
  • Something looks out of date? Pull down on the list to refresh it.
  • Still stuck? Update the app from the App Store, then sign out from Me and sign back in.

If none of that helps, write to support@thickethq.com with your device model and what you were doing. See Contacting Support.
