Using Thicket
Every feature, in detail
Creating and Setting Up a Project
Create a project, choose its tools, decide who can see it, and archive or trash it when the work is done.
Project and To-do List Templates
Save a project or a to-do list as a template, then start new projects and lists from it with the setup already in place.
Message Boards
Post announcements and updates, choose who's notified, and keep discussions organized with categories, pins, and comments.
To-dos and Lists
Create to-do lists, assign work with due dates, add subtasks and repeating to-dos, and check off what's done.
Docs and Files
Write docs, upload and preview files, link to files on other services, and organize everything in folders.
Boards
Track work as cards moving through columns from Triage to Done, with assignees, due dates, steps, and on-hold sections.
Group Chat and Direct Messages
Talk in real time in each project's chat room, or start a private chat with one person or a small group.
Calendar and Events
Add events to a project's calendar, set up repeating events and reminders, and follow Thicket events from your own calendar app.
Automatic Check-ins
Ask people a recurring question on a schedule, collect every answer on one page, and pause a question or opt out when you need to.
External Links
Put links to GitHub, Figma, Google Drive, Zoom and other services on the home page of a project, right below its tools.
Formatting Text
Use the formatting toolbar, keyboard shortcuts and Markdown to add headings, lists, links, tables, code, colors, images, files and embeds.
Drafts and Scheduled Posts
Save a message or doc as a draft to finish later, or schedule it to post on its own at a date and time you choose.
Comments and References
Discuss any item in the comments under it, edit or remove what you wrote, close a thread, and see everywhere else in Thicket that links to an item.
Cheers
React to a message, comment, to-do or chat line with an emoji or a few words, and see every cheer you have given and received.
Voice Notes
Record a voice note straight into a message, doc, comment or chat, play it back anywhere, and turn voice notes on or off for your account.
Moving and Copying
Move an item to another project, list, or folder, or copy it to reuse the work, and see what comes along in each case.
Archiving, Trash, and Restoring
Archive finished work to keep it out of the way, put things you no longer need in the trash, and restore items and whole projects.
Sharing Items with Public Links
Share a message, doc, or file with people outside your account through a read-only link, and turn the link off when you are done.
Searching
Find messages, to-dos, docs, files, and chats with the jump menu or the Search page, and narrow the results by project, tool, or person.
Bookmarks
Save the messages, to-dos, docs, and other items you keep coming back to, and find them again under My Bookmarks.
See Everything in Your Projects
Browse every message, doc, file, comment, and check-in answer across your projects in one place, newest first.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Get around Thicket from the keyboard: open the jump menu, go to your own pages, and act on the page you are on with a few keys.
The Me Section
Use the Me section of the sidebar to reach your assignments, events, drafts, bookmarks, private notes, cheers, and chats from any page.
Chats and Notifications
Open the Chats + Notifications sidebar to catch up on direct messages, new activity, and reminders, mark things read, and silence alerts for a while.
Remind Me Later
Set a reminder on a message, to-do, or notification so it comes back in your sidebar when you choose, then reschedule or dismiss it.
Latest Activity
Follow what is happening across your projects in one feed, filter it by project, person, or keyword, and get a daily summary by email.
Reports
See work across all your projects at once: upcoming and overdue assignments, unassigned work, daily task logs, and what each person is working on.
Roadmap
Plot your dated projects on a 13-week timeline to see what is in play and who is on it, change dates in place, and mark key dates for everyone.
Progress Charts
Track to-do lists on a progress chart to show whether each piece of work is still being figured out or being finished, with a history of every update.
Project Health
Turn on project health to show at a glance whether a project is on track, post updates with a note, and see every project in one report.
